About Us

Growing up in the shadows of the big 3 US motor company, you end up appreciating cars. However, what I didn’t appreciate was the fact that the car industry had, and still does, have a strong hold on the car sales and information.
This became more clear to me when I had to buy my own car. Prior to this, buying a car was easy. My father worked for one of the big 3, so you buy one of their cars at employee pricing . The hardest part was choosing which car to buy! I really got used to the idea of employee pricing. Unfortunately, now, when I buy a car, I find that the listed car pricing, from the various dealers, very ambiguous.
Well, I had an idea. I’m a strong believer that my peers know a lot. So when I had to buy a car, I looked at all the various car websites as a starting point for pricing. Then, what I did, more importantly, was I asked around. I asked a lot … I mean a lot of people, a lot of questions.
The results speaks for itself:
Car #1: Audi Q5
When the Q5 came out, it was a hot selling car and Audi was not giving out any incentives! Audi was only giving out $1000 for current Audi owners. I was able to to get $2,500 off MSRP
Car#2: Subaru Forester
Negotiating this car was interesting because I was able to get $6,000 less MSRP. To understand how great peer-to-peer asking worked, a good friend was also looking at this same car, at the same time, and from the same dealer! He was only able to get $1500 less MSRP!
Car #3: Volvo XC90
Using the same idea of peer-to-peer, I was able to get $10,000 less MSRP
So I know Peer-to-Peer works. However, I thought there has to be a better way than me going out to ask a lot of people, a lot of questions. I figure instead of going to many places to ask many people, let’s get many people to come to ONE place. Let’s build ONE great community with a lot of car knowledge to help each other! Come join the PriceXauto community!
